RESTAURANT: SPOON PGH

hi internet!!! i think i have some splainin' to do. um basically i am the worst blogger ever and briefly had a moment (for like a year) where i forgot about my days as a blogger and abandoned the internet completely. will that do as an explanation? all forgive? okay? okay.

anywho i am back with a vengeance and am here to document my recent restaurant experience at spoon in pittsburgh, unedited iphone photos and all for full authenticity.

spoon is the restaurant where my cute boyfriend works and it just so happens to be one of the best restaurants in all of pittsburgh. he took me there for a full tasting menu which was so much delicious food! to start out we had the tiniest little ramekins of squash soup (which tyler says they only serve to the most *important* people before their meal). flounder ceviche with plantain chips was the next course which i may have gotten too excited about to document. then we had an entire red snapper whose gross eyes were staring at us but he tasted so good that i forgave him. the main course was manicotti with house-made ricotta and so many delicious mushrooms on top, followed by dessert of panacotta with pear and ginger crumble and maple reduction. everything was so tasty!! we paired our meal with gin and tonics, which, seeing as spoon is a gin club, seemed highly appropriate.

we ended the night by going home and drinking a bottle of wine and even ore gin ad tonics and having a very silly night. i highly recommend spoon if you happen to be in pittsburgh!
