valentine's day was wednesday so i made a cake about it!! (side note: last time i made a cake was a year ago and i posted about it here and promised to make 11 more in the next 11 months and then didn't bake or blog again for a year....let's not talk about it). i was never one for cheesy holidays as kid (i was much more likely to violently reject them) but i'm making up for that now with some extra cheesiness! i just love a holiday that's all about love and what better way to show your love than with cake! i pulled out mixer for the first time in forever and and whipped up egg whites and cream to make a pretty little cake! then i cut some out-of-season strawberries into little hearts to make a very lame and cute decoration. tyler and i ate almond cake for dinner for a week and we're not mad about it.
